...a gold notepad?? I need a gold logbook for a themed cache and I haven't been able to find one anywhere! I've checked all the office supply stores, Michael's, Wal-Mart, etc....has anyone seen one? (I mean, a notepad with a gold cover, not the whole thing...)

That would be good....except they charge a minimum of $6.95 shipping. Guess I'm not that anxious...thanks, though!

Wouldn't you know, not long after making do with what carabiners I could find around here and planting our "Pirates of the Carabiners" (groan) cache, they start selling novelty ones at Wal-Mart and Walgreens. Sheesh. Bought a bone-shaped one to add to our cache in the warm future.

Where can I buy FAKE rocks! I have tried online and the only ones that I can find are HUGE! Except the ones on Groundspeak and they are usually out of stock. I just imagine buying one of these HUGE boulders and hiding a Micro cache under it! Hey..... Forget I said that!!!!! krupps.com/Artificial-Rocks/0_0_130_130_RBD9154_2700_130

Tincup- You and I have really gotta get a life! The Dollar Tree stores have a lot of assorted notepads (usually 3 for a dollar), especially if you go to different ones if you like to go to different towns and check them out. That way when you cache and notice the caches you frequent are almost empty, you can just leave a notepad in there for them!

gardening.about.com/cs/projects/l/aa091699.htm tells you how to make your own. We plan to try this. Also, Dollar Tree sometimes has those hide-a-key ones which look totally fake, but if you paint them to match wherever you're placing one, you can get away with it. At the txgc forum, I asked about carabiners and got a bunch of 'rock' answers as well; you can check the links out there. Re: notebooks - I've kind of given up on that idea....

My wife wont let me play with cement anymore, ever since the cat incident of '89. So I guess I will be buying my fake rocks! ;D

Hey Pladie, The '96 G & G incident wasn't totally my fault. I was just assisting, so I only take partial blame. Of course it was my idea though..... ;D
