Tincup, I think you are right on. All of mine that have gone missing have been in the hands of new folks when last seen.
Something else I think hurts is sending a bug out on a mission without an instruction tag attached to the bug, as some of us talked about at the meeting. I was guilty of doing that on my first bug, but Doug in Portales (I think) fixed that by adding one when it hit one of his caches. It is the only one of mine now active and sitting happily in a cache above Loch Ness in Scotland!
There's a couple in Las Cruces, GeoCat and GeoKitty, that gave up on bugs. She now handmakes "GeoMice" - little quilted mice and sends them out. Each is labled and numbered so if folks want, they can send the GeoFelines info on where they go (no mission is set). Most of them stay with the first finder 'cause they are so cool. I think they have done well over a hundred of them (including the one sitting on my fireplace!).

I wish they could do something about it! I grabbed a TB on Sat. They hadn't signed the log or anything - it was late so I didn't go past 1-11 logbook signing. So, I grab it out of the hands of the previous owner. The person logs on the site that he had gone to see it just prior to when I went and just hadn't logged it out yet - and "Don't rush me". Well, here with the problems with all the TBs I was just trying to get it logged out.
AAAAAGGGGH!
Just can't do anything right with these TBs!!!!
But, thanks to my hounding this time, I've at least got one of my TBs back on the road that was in a users hands for 7 months. So maybe multiple e-mails works.

Oh...sorry to hear that. It went well goody-wise! Char was most generous. Actually, the whole thing went well. I wanted to get the next event completely planned, but even I know that was unreasonable.... Ack!! I meant, Char and Jim were most generous! Char and Jim were generous!!

Well, I'm really sorry I missed it. Even sorrier that I missed the goodies Oh, well, next time. Events are so difficult to plan - I'm always involved in coordinating the MS150 and other MS stuff - so I know how time-consuming it is and how difficult it is to get other people to assist. It's good to have people like you who are willing to spend the amount of time that is required in order to do this. Hats off to you!

So there's always hope, after all.

Do you know how to change ownership of a TB? My sister had one that was headed my way, and I had one that went to her. We were going to change the mission of them and start them over on a new quest.
I see how you can change the name and mission, but don't see that you can change ownership. I have the activation #, the TB#, etc.
Thanks!

Do you know how to change ownership of a TB? Hmm....I'm afraid I don't. You may have to consult 9key on that one.

One of my TB's finally got placed - after having been held onto by the person since last July! YEAH!!!! ;D ;D ;D This was one that I was trying to get to my sister before her birthday (last year!). She got one to me before my birthday - of course someone mailed it to one of her friends in order to get it there in time. But it got to a cache very close to my home 1 day before my birthday. It was pretty cool.

Hey, that's great that your TB is moving again! I was pretty impressed by the fact that one of them that I had that went MIA and started him over with a copy of the tag has now gone 12,600 miles! He's gone further than I have in the past year (well, not really) - I forgot about our vacation last November to the Western Caribbean... I now have all of my TBs (9 of them) moving again.

Although someone by the name of Tin-Cup may have a couple of them ;D We've got one that we need to place probably when we go to San Angelo on Wednesday. Hopefully we'll be able to pick one up while we're there to bring back here. I'm hoping to do some caching in Odessa on Saturday since we're going there for a seminar Nothing like an excuse to go caching! A caching we will go a caching we will go. Hi ho the dairy O a caching we will go.

I brought back 3 TB's, one was a Geocoin, from Baton Rouge when I went there to visit the inlaws, so you should be able to snag several in the area.
